THE 14TH
AFRACA GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO BE HELD IN SOUTH AFRICA |
The
African Rural and Agricultural Finance Association (AFRACA)
will hold the 14th General Assembly in Johannesburg,
South Africa from November 22 – 26,2004. In
preparation for the Assembly, a planning meeting was
held in Maseru, Lesotho at the end of October.
Present at the meeting were planning committee
members from Lesotho, the host country, AFRACA
Secretariat from Kenya, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
The planning meeting discussed among others, the
attendance list, budget and modalities and
logistics, for the Assembly.
The Assembly will be preceded by the workshop on
“Innovative Approaches to Rural Financial Services
Provision with Emphasis on Smallholder Producers.”
The workshop will be held on November 21, 2004.
Other activities will be the;
• AFRACA Policy Advisory Group Meeting on November
20, 2004
• AFRACA Executive Committee Meeting on November 21,
2004
• AFRACA Workshop and Assembly November 22 – 26,
2004.
Representatives of AFRACA are expected to attend the
Assembly. AFRACA is the Association of central
banks, commercial banks and agricultural banks,
micro-finance institutions and national programmes
dealing with agricultural and rural finance in
Africa. CBL is a member of AFRACA.
