The First National Bank, Lesotho Branch has been
appointed by the Minister of Finance and Development
Planning as an Authorised Dealer in foreign
exchange. This appointment was made by Government
Gazette No. 127 of 17 December 2004, Legal Notice
No. 207
The First National Bank (FNB) started its operations
in Lesotho in October 2004. The Central Bank granted
FNB South Africa a licence to open a branch in
Lesotho in accordance with Sections 4 and 5 of the
Financial Institutions Act (FIA) 1999.
