The
Global Financial Crisis has been the most talked
about phenomenon in recent times, at various
platforms, across the world. National governments,
news media, and other economic and socio-political
formations have created avenues for debates to
attempt to contextualize this crisis to their own
settings, with a view to intelligently craft
appropriate responses to it.
It is in the light of the recognition of the effects and
impact of this crisis on Lesotho that the Central
Bank of Lesotho has organised a Seminar on Wednesday
10th December 2008, to antagonize this
global issue. Those who will attend this Seminar
will range from Government Ministers, policy makers,
market players in the private sector, and
academicians, to discuss and seek to understand the
origin, nature and likely impacts of the ongoing
financial crisis on the global economy in general,
and on the economy of Lesotho in particular, and
establish what options Lesotho can pursue to
mitigate its impacts.
