 CHIEF SECURITY OFFICER

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Chief Security Officer at the Central Bank of Lesotho.  This is a middle management position to head the Division of Security. The incumbent will be directly responsible to the Governor.

The successful candidate shall be appointed on a three-year contract period.

Purpose of the Job

The main purpose of this job is supervision of reviewing, planning, coordination, organizing and auditing of the Bank’s security and safety operations and systems; establishing and implementing policies and procedures to safeguard the assets of the Bank, staff, customers and visitors.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will carry out the following duties and responsibilities:-

-                      Plan, coordinate, and organise all security and safety systems and processes of the Bank to ensure protection of people, property and information.

-                      Develop and implement general security and safety policies and procedures, ensuring strict adherence to them.

-                      Advise and liaise with Management and other stakeholders on all ongoing security and safety related aspects, and formulate preventative measures.

-                      Investigate security breaches and take remedial action thereof and apprise Management of actions being taken and results achieved.

-                      Ensure the efficiency of all implemented physical, electronic and organisational security safety systems at regular intervals in the Bank building and other properties of the Bank.

Qualifications & Experience

A Master’s degree in any of the following areas: Security Management (or an equivalent security-related qualification), or Business Management or Law. A recognised Diploma in Computer Science will be an added advantage.

In addition, a minimum experience of seven years in a security intensive organization or private security industry, three of which should have been in a managerial position.

Skills Required

-                      Management and supervisory skills

-                      Self defence or unarmed combat skills

-                      Computer literacy

-                      Fire fighting skills

-                      Knowledge of Computerised Security Systems an added advantage
