Director of Administration

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Lesotho nationals to fill the position of Director of Administration at the Central Bank of Lesotho.  This is a senior management position to head the Department of Administration of the Bank. The incumbent will report directly to the Deputy Governor responsible for Administration.

The successful candidate will be appointed on a five-year fixed-term contract.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Director of Administration will be responsible for the following duties:

-                     Direct, plan, coordinate and oversee smooth execution of day to day activities of the Department of Administration.

-                     Develop and administer administrative policies and procedures as approved by Management and the Board of Directors to promote operational efficiency, and ensure that policies are up to date and geared towards maintenance of best standards and practices at all times.

-                     Oversee the administration of policies, and staff rules and regulations to ensure compliance and maintenance of a disciplined work force.

-                     Support other Departments of the Bank by coordinating and overseeing overall human resource management including recruitment of highly qualified personnel, training of staff, work allocation that is commensurate to remuneration packages and performance evaluation to enhance productivity while motivating and promoting general welfare of staff.

-                     Ensure general upkeep and maintenance of assets and other property of the Bank, ensuring that buildings and equipment are safe, well maintained and kept in good condition.

-                     Oversee the procurement process in line with approved policies and procedures, and ensuring proper implementation of the budget.

-                     Prepare and submit weekly management reports for the Executive Committee and also to the Board of Directors as and when required. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

A Master’s degree in any one of the following areas: 

i)          Business Administration

ii)          Public Administration

iii)         Management or equivalent qualifications.

In addition, candidates must have relevant experience of ten (10) years, five (5) of which should have been in a senior managerial position. A PhD in any of the above fields of expertise and computer skills will be added advantages.
