Applications are invited from suitably qualified Lesotho nationals to fill the position of External Data Communications Administrator in the Infrastructure and Operations Division (IOD) of the Information and Communications Technology Department.

Reporting directly to Senior Infrastructure and Security Administrator, the incumbent will design and maintain access to all web applications and network infrastructure especially the perimeter network that links the Bank with its external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be required to translate business requirements into network designs as well as to plan and recommend network hardware, systems management software and architecture. The incumbent will carry out the following duties and responsibilities:

-           Design and maintain Internet access and other perimeter network services.

-           Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls and VPNs for the network systems.

-           Work closely with team members and internal customers to develop business system requirements.

-           Develop relevant policies, procedures and user guidance manuals.

-           Implement security policies using relevant software and hardware equipment like firewalls, routers etc.

-           Monitor network performance and proactively assess and make recommendations for improvement.                         

-           Assist in the preparation of relevant project plans and schedules.

-           Liaise with Internet and other external service suppliers. 

-           Additional projects and responsibilities will be assigned.                  

Qualifications and Experience

-           Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or comparable qualification in IT.

-           Three or more years experience with CISCO internetworking configurations on routers and firewalls is required.

-           Possession of professional level CISCO certifications would be an added advantage.
