Applications are invited from suitably qualified Lesotho Nationals to fill the following positions in the Departments of Financial Markets and Administration at the Central Bank of Lesotho:

1.      SENIOR ANALYST – MIDDLE OFFICE

Reporting to Head – Dealing and Strategy Division, the Incumbent will perform the following duties:

-      Overall portfolio management

-      Design and preparation of portfolio performance reports

-      Design and preparation of credit and market risk reports

-    Assessment of portfolio risk and making recommendations to the Front Office and the Investment Technical Committee about risk management strategies

-     Recommending measures to develop the money and capital markets in Lesotho

-     Review of global financial markets and analysis of relevant financial indicators

-     Prepare annual plan and work programme for the section

-     Prepare sectional quarterly progress report

-     Prepare budget for the section

-   Carry out performance appraisal for analyst in order to coach accordingly, and/or recommend remedial as well as appropriate recognition of individual; performance.

 

Qualifications

BA (economics) with at least Second Class First Division or equivalent pass in Economics with good (A or B) grades in at least three of the following subjects or their equivalents:

-         International Economics

-         International Finance

-         Monetary Economics

-         Macroeconomics

-         Econometrics

-         Statistics

Masters in Economics or Financial Markets will be an added advantage.

Other Requirements

-         Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel

-         Good communication and analytical skills are necessary

 

Personal Attributes

-         Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work under pressure.

-         Preparedness to work beyond normal hours and weekends.

 

2.      SECURITY OFFICER II – (8) POSITIONS

 

Reporting to Security Officer I, the incumbent will have the following duties and responsibilities:

 

-    Process and issue access cards to staff, visitors and contractors.

-    Escort visitors and contractors in and out of the Bank.

-    Man the control room, other security stations and operate various security systems.

-    Carry out security sport checks as directed and in accordance with the search procedures.

-    Carry out detailed checks of the premises, investigate and report in writing all unusual occurrences.

-    React to intruder detection alarms whenever such alarms are received.

-    Hoist and lower the national and corporate flags in accordance with the laid down procedures.

-    Screen and identify commercial banks’ personnel and their security escorts entering high security areas.

-    Man the Banking hall to ensure orderliness

-    Control traffic and parking for staff and visitors within the Bank’s premises.

-    Arrange for the cleaning of guard posts and other stations.

-    Report all incidences to superiors from time to time as per security procedures.

 

The nature of this job involves working shifts including weekends, public holidays and nights. The prospective candidates must be prepared to undertake long distance trips on short notice.

 

Requisite Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess Certificate/Diploma in the Security related field or at least a COSC with credit or a seven (7) pass in English with at least three years’ experience in Security.

·        Valid Driving License

·        Weapon handling

·        People skills

·        Computer literacy
