Applications
are invited from suitably qualified Lesotho
Nationals to fill the following positions:
Assistant Secretary to the Board in the
Governor’s Office, Accountant in the
Financial Markets Department and Assistant
Analyst in the Supervision Department at the
Central Bank of Lesotho.
1.
Assistant Secretary to the Board
Reporting directly to Secretary to the Board, the incumbent will perform
the following duties and responsibilities: -
·
Provision of secretarial services to various sub-committees
of the Board of Directors.
·
Implementation of the Central Bank of Lesotho Act No. 2 of
2000
·
Administration/management, implementation and monitoring of
the legal documents of the Bank.
·
Participation in selected technical committees of the Bank.
·
Attend to the litigation matters of the Bank.
·
Proffer legal advice to various structures of the Bank.
·
Execution of legal documents.
·
Management of staff members responsible over,
inclusive of their activities.
Qualifications
·
A first/junior degree in the field of either law
(BA Law) or administration (BA Administration) [or
an associate of the Chartered Institute of
Business Management (Associate CIBM) or equivalent
NQF 6 grading by the South African Qualifications
Authority or other similar international
qualifications in corporate administration,
governance, management and secretary-ship].
Other Requirements
·
Five (5) years working experience within a
corporate environment entrusted with the provision
of legal and secretarial services.
·
Admission to practice in the courts of law
·
Computer literacy.
2.
Accountant
Reporting directly to Senior Accountant, the
incumbent will carry out the following duties and
responsibilities:
·
Input authorized vouchers into the General ledger (MIDAS) and
submit to Senior Accountant for
approval/acceptance.
·
Check that monthly projects statements have supporting
vouchers.
·
Check that Government and CBL cheques paid by ABSA have been
accurately accounted for before dispatch to
Banking Division.
·
Partake in the input of authorized Maloti payments and
receipts into the Lesotho Wire System (RTGS).
·
Supervise the work of the Assistant Accountant.
·
Attend to urgent queries in the absence of Senior Accountant.
Qualifications
·
B Com. Accounting, General Accountant
·
Computer literacy will be an added advantage.
2.
Assistant Analyst
Reporting directly to Section Head, Off Site, incumbent will perform the
following duties and responsibilities:
·
Check and monitor Cross Border Foreign
Exchange Transactions (CBFET) files submitted by
the ADS.
·
Produce inward and outward CBFET reports for
FISTC and Research Department.
·
Communicate with authorised dealers
regularly on any irregularities in foreign
exchange transactions submitted and give guidance
on procedural queries.
·
Register the incoming foreign currency
transfer application i.e. applications to sell
foreign currencies in order to certify receipts
and forward to Head of Division for approval.
·
Compile monthly and quarterly reports of
foreign currency transactions for use by Research
Department and South African Reserve Bank (SARB).
·
Process and analyse Exchange Control
Declaration Forms F178.
·
Analyse large cash transactions received
from ADS monthly.
Requirements
·
The incumbent should have COSC or equivalent, Certificate or
Diploma in Business Studies/Management, Diploma in
Banking, Certified Accounting Technician or
equivalent qualifications.
·
Computer Literacy is a must.
