JOB OPPORTUNITIES  -   ASSISTANT SECRETARY TO THE BOARD

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Lesotho citizens to fill the positions of Analyst in the Off-Site Surveillance Section within the Financial Institutions Supervision Division and Assistant Maintenance Officer in the General Services Division at the Central Bank of Lesotho.

1. ANALYST – OFF SITE SURVEILLANCE

Reporting to Section Head, Off-Site Supervision, the incumbent will be responsible for the monitoring of the financial condition of banks and their compliance with laws and regulations governing them. Specific duties and responsibilities will include the following:-

·         To prepare financial analysis based on the balance sheets and income statements submitted by the banks.

·         To review compliance with laws and regulations by all banks and to prepare brief reports based on compliance reviews conducted.

·         To recommend appropriate supervisory actions, the conduct of examination (full scope or special purpose) to address areas of concern arising out of the compliance reviews and financial analyses.

·         To liaise with the Research Department and other departments of the Central Bank in gathering data and other information relevant to financial analysis work.

·         To maintain a database of the financial performance of all banks.

Requirements:

Applicants must have any of the following qualifications: B. Com., BA Accounting, BBA, RA/GA or equivalent Banking qualifications. Candidates with strong analytical skills and computer literacy will have an added advantage.

2. ASSISTANT MAINTENANCE OFFICER – GSD

Reporting directly to Maintenance Officer, the incumbent will perform the following duties:-

·         Assist in maintenance of structures, water and sewerage systems, air conditioning, electronic, fire protection equipment, furniture and other Bank’s installations.

·         Assist to undertake the system and equipment performance, safety audits and report any deficiencies promptly to ensure maximum efficiency of such equipment.

·         Provide technical support in maintaining Bank electrical or electronic assets.

·         Provide general maintenance services for the Bank properties, plant and equipment including official Bank residences.

Qualifications

·         National Diploma in Electronic Engineering

 

Knowledge and Skills

·         Computer literacy

·         Communication skills (written and spoken)

·         Maintenance of electronic assets
