The GTZ Mission in Lesotho |
The Central Bank of Lesotho is in the process of
improving and strengthening its operations in the
field of microfinance by reviewing policy and legal
framework. In pursuit of this objective, the Bank
has requested technical assistance from GTZ and
African Regional Agricultural Association (AFRACA)
to develop a policy on microfinance, review the
microfinance legislation and enhance the capacity of
the Central Bank to supervise the sector. A Mission
of two consultants, one from Germany and the other
from Kenya has arrived in Maseru to undertake this
assignment. During its stay in the country, it will
have discussions with all relevant players as well
as collect the necessary material. The Mission will
leave Lesotho on 01 April 2005.
