The Central Bank of Lesotho (the Bank) hereby invites bid proposals from licensed insurance Brokers for appointment of short-term insurance broker for a period of twelve months beginning 1^st January 2009 to 31^st December 2009, renewable at the discretion of the Bank, to provide insurance services as outlined hereinafter. 

A.      Bid proposals must include the following in the proposed order:

1. Table of contents.
2. The profile of the bidding insurance Broker duly signed by a person with authority to do so.
3. A statement attesting to the bidding Broker's possession of a professional indemnity insurance indicating the amount of cover thereof and signed by the person authorized to do so.
4.  Brokerage experience with body corporates over a period of the last five years, indicating the nature of the risks administered.
5. Recent financial statement of the bidding Broker duly signed by an Audit Firm or practising Chartered Accountant.
6.  

a)    Premiums proposed to be payable by the Bank for the year 2009 insurance period relating to cover in respect of, but not limited to the following:

                                        i.          Bankers Blanket Bond

                                      ii.          Immovable and movable properties of the Bank and Lehakoe Recreation and Cultural Centre (excluding motor vehicles)

                                     iii.          Public Liability

                                     iv.          Stated Benefits

                                       v.          Travel Insurance

                                     vi.          Motor vehicles fleet cover

b)    A summary table of the proposed premiums with a total thereof clearly stated.

7. Any other material issues on benefits to be delivered to the Bank.
8. Certified copies of the license to operate as an insurance broker in the Kingdom of Lesotho plus VAT compliance certificate must be submitted with the bid.

B.      A non-compulsory site visit is scheduled for Tuesday 28^th October 2008 at 10h00.

C.      Bids bearing no identification of the bidder in sealed envelopes clearly marked “Insurance Proposal” should be deposited in the tender box located at the Reception area of the Central Bank of Lesotho at corner Moshoeshoe & Airport Roads no later than 14h30 Friday, 14^th November 2008.

D.      Bids will be opened the same day at 14h30 in the Central Bank Auditorium. Bidder’s or their representatives who wish to attend are welcome. 

E.      Bidders are requested to quote in Maloti or Rands only and to include VAT in their bids.

F.      Central Bank of Lesotho is not necessarily bound to accept the lowest or any bid

• Bidders are to note that the Central Bank of Lesotho may apply Withholding Tax obligation when effecting payments.
